Educational objectives The student should be able to describe the clinical characteristics of the main neurosurgical diseases and to describe the specific diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Prerequisites In order to understand the program it is necessary the knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the central nervous system. It is also important the knowledge of the main imaging techniques and of pharmacology.

Teaching methods Frontal lessons.
Other information Practical training and seminars will be organized and communicated during the lessons.

Learning verification modality Single oral exam (open answer questions, duration 15-20 minutes). The objective of the exam is to evaluate the student’s ability to describe the epidemiology, the pathogenesis the presentation and the diagnostic/therapeutic approach of the main neurological and neurosurgical diseases.

Intracranial hypertension.
