Elements for the design of soft and rigid contact lenses, for corrective, cosmetic, prosthetic, therapeutic use, also in the pediatric and geriatric field.
Notions on the concept of sagittal and its importance in the design and geometric manipulation.
Learning and identifying the most frequent complications related to the use of contact lenses or their maintenance.

Educational objectives
The course aims to provide the fundamental and indispensable knowledge for the choice and design of the most suitable contact lenses in relation to the problems, objectives and expectations of the user.
This training will make use of the skills required in the use of all the equipment, physical and digital, to achieve the application objective.
The teaching process, also including a practical part, aims to transmit the necessary mastery in the management and resolution of any application problems, through the knowledge of the most appropriate geometric and / or material changes, aimed at improving the final result.
Another aspect of the training will be related to the correct relationship not only between applicator and wearer, finalized to avoid complications related to the use and / or maintenance of contact lenses, but also to interdisciplinary professional relationships with other specialists in the ophthalmological and non-ophthalmological field.

Oral test to ascertain: i) the ability to understand the theoretical contents of the course (Dublin descriptor 1), ii) the ability to expose and correctly apply theoretical knowledge (Dublin descriptor 2), iii) Ability to autonomously formulate appropriate judgments and observations on possible alternative model (Dublin descriptor 3), iv) the ability in effective and pertinent written communication (Dublin 4 descriptor).
