Develop a deep understanding and comprehension of the works of Elias Canetti.
Skills:
Analyze and interpret the key themes in Canetti's writing within their historical and cultural context;
Participate in critical discussions on the impact of his ideas on modern thought;
Explore the multicultural influences on his work.
Abilities:
Develop an appropriate capacity to judge the aesthetic quality of his work. - Prerequisites
- Good knowledge of the literary and cultural history of German-speaking countries; good knowledge of the German language

The exam, lasting approximately 30 minutes, will include questions on the topics covered in class and a discussion of the texts listed in the bibliography.
The following will be equally assessed and evaluated: knowledge of the writer's main works, the ability to contextualize them, and the ability to organize, critically analyze, and appropriately present the content in German.

- The course offers an in-depth analysis of the major works of Elias Canetti, Nobel Prize for Literature in 1981, exploring themes such as the psychology of crowds, the nature of power, identity, and metamorphosis. The historical and cultural context of his production will be examined, including his plays, the novel "Die Blendung," essays, diaries, aphorisms, and annotations, in order to investigate his unique narrative style and philosophical insights. Additionally, emphasis will be placed on the intercultural and multilingual experiences of this eccentric figure, whose sole profession was writing, highlighting his impact on literature and modern thought
