Contents Within the educational-training program, the clinical internship is a professionalizing moment, of fundamental importance for the student, for the learning of manual skills and for the development of essential competences in the exercise of the profession.

Educational objectives The internship allows students to acquire clinical and communication skills not otherwise available through a path defined by objectives that integrate, enrich, and verify theoretical learning. Specifically, it allows students to:

Anticipate aspects of future study
Integrate theoretical knowledge
Develop diagnostic skills through the formulation of hypotheses
Verify diagnostic hypotheses following the principles of Evidence-Based Dentistry
Develop decision-making and organizational skills

Extended program - Encouragement of oral health culture;

- Promotion of individual oral hygiene techniques, with particular emphasis on the use of instruments, tools, and techniques;

- Removal of hard and soft deposits, both supra- and subgingival, using manual and mechanical instruments;

- Topical application of sealants, varnishes, foams, and desensitizers;

- Promotion of fluoride prophylaxis methods;

- Whitening of vital teeth and taking impressions for aligner preparation;

- Collection of technical and statistical data, compilation of periodontal records, and recording of periodontal disease parameters and indices;

- Participation in primary prevention projects within the public health system;

- Preparation of intra- and extra-oral photographic documentation;

- Polishing of fillings;

- Indicates the rules of rational dietary intake for the purpose of maintaining dental health.

Contents Course contents:
The development of the stomatognathic system.
The prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal periods. Semiotics in dentistry.
The classification of occlusion.
The Brook and Show treatment need indices.
The need for cephalometric radiography in dentistry.
Detection of malocclusions. Main treatment techniques in orthodontics. The use of the intraoral scanner. The student, after active attendance and individual study,
should:
be able to recognize the main pathologies of dental interest; demonstrate mastery in the application of diagnostic and therapeutic
pathways in all branches of dentistry; demonstrate mastery of the concepts useful for research and the application of guidelines in daily
clinical practice; be able to develop interdisciplinary
connections with specialists from other branches.

Educational objectives The objective of the course is to provide a comprehensive, integrated, and organic understanding of the clinical manifestations of odontostomatological diseases. The module should provide students with a framework for examining and evaluating congenital, hereditary, and developmental processes, along with references to anatomy, physiology, and stomatognathic pathology. By the end of the course, students should have mastered the basics of the main odontostomatological diseases, enabling them to collaborate with specialists from other branches of medicine.

Extended program Oral anatomy and histology, the initial visit (history and physical examination), data acquisition techniques (impressions and models), the principles of dental ergonomics, and the foundations of the profession. Concepts related to the oral cavity, such as the ecosystem, diseases of the pulp and periradicular tissues, and tooth eruption and permutation, are also covered.
