Educational objectives

The main knowledge acquired covers: the birth of the sociology of work, the main theories of sociology of organization, the industrial question, Taylor and Ford, Human Relations, the socio-technical approach, the Toyota model, Total Quality Management, post-Fordism, flexibility and precarity.
Other knowledge concerns the study of organizations, in particular: metaphors and organizational models, the study of leadership styles, conflict and negotiation, climate, culture and motivation at work.
Finally, knowledge also covers socio-economic issues: the birth and development of the labor market and sources for studying it. Artificial intelligence and work, impact on employment, the new sociotechnology 5.0.

Prerequisites

In order to better understand the contents developed during the course the student (attending and not attending) must know the main theories and concepts of general sociology and social research methodology.

Teaching methods

The prevailing teaching method involves lectures in the classroom (or on Microsoft Teams for those entitled) aided, if necessary, by multimedia tools; in-depth e-learning on the unistudium platform is also provided. Video screenings. In-depth seminars where possible.

Learning verification modality

The examination includes the final oral test, which consists of a discussion/interview relating to the topics covered during the course and explored in depth in the texts and materials indicated. The test serves to ascertain the student's level of knowledge and ability to comprehend and synthesise. The interview will verify the student's ability to communicate what he/she has acquired with method, properties of language and exposition. The duration of the examination varies according to the progress of the test itself and sometimes begins with a question of the student's choice on a topic chosen by the student.
In order to take the exam, it is compulsory to book the exam through the Unipg esse3 system, both for students enrolled in the course in Science for Investigation and Security and for students wishing to take the exam as an elective and therefore coming from another course of study.
Who need information on support services for students with disabilities and/or DSA can find useful information at http://www.unipg.it/disabilita-e-dsa.
If you intend to sit the exam in a year prior to the year scheduled in the study plan, it is recommended that you attend the cycle of lectures and sit the exam in the first available exam call after the lectures have ended, thus respecting the semester in which the course is scheduled
