Philosophy as a Science of Itself: Ontological Foundations and Reflection on Worldly Aesthetics in Moretti-Costanzi. • To investigate the essence of philosophy in its most proper nature, understood as a science that reflects upon itself and on the foundations of the ontological relationship between being, thought, and world. • To critically analyze the link between subjectivity and truth, highlighting the reflective and foundational dimension of philosophical thinking. • To explore the relationship between ontology and aesthetics, with particular attention to the issue of femininity as both a symbolic and concrete figure of the relation between being and appearance. • To delve into the thought of Teodorico Moretti-Costanzi, with particular reference to his original contribution on worldly aesthetics and femininity as a philosophical category. At the end of the course, the student will be able to: • Understand and articulate the reflective and foundational character of philosophy. • Recognize and discuss the main issues of the ontological relation in a contemporary key. • Critically analyze the thought of Teodorico Moretti-Costanzi, contextualizing his contribution. • Develop an autonomous reflection on the themes of femininity and worldly aesthetics.

The examination will be conducted in form of the oral examination and will last about an hour. The vote will be based on a five phases' judgement: 20% of the vote is the first test, 20% is acquired knowledge and the remaining percentage is reading, independent judgment and the ability to debate.
Extended program
The course aims to explore philosophy in its most original essence: not as a mere theoretical discipline, but as a reflective science that questions itself and the foundations of the relationship between thought and being. Philosophy is thus understood as an exercise of thinking oriented toward the foundation, which—while doing so—recognizes the relational nature of reality and knowledge. At the heart of the course lies the idea that ontology is not the knowledge of what is immobile or static, but rather a living reflection on relation, alterity, and proximity between the being and the other, between the subject and the world. In this perspective, philosophy becomes an act of openness, a way of dwelling on the threshold between presence and meaning. The monographic part of the course will be dedicated to the thought of Teodorico Moretti-Costanzi, with particular attention to the themes of femininity and worldly aesthetics. Through the reading of his texts, we will highlight how femininity can be thought of as a symbolic figure of the relationship between being and appearance, between truth and beauty. In this light, worldly aesthetics reveals itself as a philosophical space in which the body, form, and presence become an access point to being.
