- Functional models according to the Gordon-Carpenito methodology applied to the nursing care process.
In reference to each functional model, the following are discussed:
· the factors that influence it, the characteristics and the alterations;
· the data useful for the targeted assessment;
· the nursing diagnoses according to the NANDA taxonomy and the collaborative problems;
· the care objectives;
· educational, preventive, curative and rehabilitative interventions that can be planned;

- The objective of the Integrated Course in Clinical Nursing and Health Education will be to provide graduates with all the knowledge necessary to:
- Make decisions and solve problems in the nursing care field using the nursing disciplinary method. Learn to recognize nursing diagnoses that arise in care situations related to the most frequent priority health problems of the population.
- Identify nursing diagnoses, define outcomes and plan interventions taking into account: standards, evidence of effectiveness, guidelines for best clinical practice and professional ethics.
- Transmit information, document and evaluate the various phases and results of the entire care process by collaborating and involving other healthcare professionals and the person being cared for.
- Establish and maintain the transpersonal care relationship in compliance with the principles and values ¿¿of the person and the professional.
- Recognize care situations that require the formulation of judgments in accordance with professional principles, values ¿¿and standards. Identify information and education opportunities for individuals, families and the community to promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
- Use health education methods and tools appropriate to the needs and characteristics of individuals and groups and evaluate the results. Know the current legislation in the field of professional responsibility and act in one's role.
- Know the roles and profiles of health, social and socio-health figures to promote multidisciplinary and multi-professional activity in the hospital and territorial setting.
- Know the current legislation on the safety of care and of the person being assisted and the contribution of the nurse in reading and developing good practices.
- Know the organizational models and identify those aimed at hospital-territory continuity of care in the field of chronicity.
- Know methods and tools to analyze risk, in order to identify the nurse's contribution in preventing the risk itself.

- The course is designed to build knowledge and skilling on dietetics and nutritional management of adult and pediatric patients in clinical centers, as well as on strategies and
tools to implement and deliver to individuals and communities the
concept of “healthy diet and life style” (health promotion activity).
Students will gain a background on nutritional requirements in different
physiological conditions such as pregnancy, lactation and weaning,
infancy and adolescence, adulthood and aging, as well as on health
effects of food groups and dietary prevention of age- and food-dependent
diseases (including obesity, malnutrition, and food toxicology and
environmental threats). - Prerequisites
- The student should have a solid background in medical biochemistry, physiology and human nutrition.
