Educational objectives
The main target is to provide specific knowledge and expertise by integrating the knowledge base provided by the main course at the vocational training and lessions.

The main skills that students will acquire:

Knowledge of the basic elements of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the sport or related to motor activity.

The goal is to get a common terminology and to have the knowledge of the main diseases and / or injuries of the musculoskeletal system, especially in the etiopathogenesis and clinical features.

Know how to recover and the most simple gestures and those typical after an injury and / or disease.
Prerequisites
To be able to understand and face the course, the student must get over the exam preparatory described in the regulation on the degree course, with huge success. knowledge of anatomy, physiology and general pathology is a positive background for the student who wants to follow the course with profit.

Learning verification modality
The exam includes an oral exam consisting of a discussion aimed atthe evaluation of the level of knowledge, comprehension and synthesis achieved by the student as well as the obtaining of method, of language and exposure.

Conducting the interview is divided into several thematic areas that characterize the teaching with lasting about 15/30 min, which could vary relating to the performance of the test.

General concepts of orthopedics and traumatology with particular reference to sport.

Medical history, clinical examination and laboratory examinations.

Pathologies from sports and in sports.

Major traumatic injuries and orthopedic disorders in various age groups, with particular reference to motor activity and sports.
Osteoarthritis.

Alterations of growth. General problems of skeletal development.

Major traumatic injuries of the locomotor system: bruises, fractures, dislocations, sprains and wounds. The tendon, muscle injuries, cartilage injuries and stress fractures.

Major diseases and traumatic injuries of the lower limb, upper limb of the spine and pelvis.
