- The course deals with the discipline of sociology of law, according to a classic didactic path that indicates the needs from which it arose and the functions it intends to perform today.

- The course aims to encourage learners to develop a sociological perspective in the approach to legal knowledge and in the exercise of the legal professions.

- Philosophy of Law.
- Teaching methods
- Frontal teaching, maybe slides, possible in-depth seminars with the involvement of attending students.

- Attending students will be provided with substitute or supplementary study documents and books.

- Oral exam; possibility of on-going checks with an exemption effect for attending students.
- Extended program
- The sociology of law completes the educational theoretical path of law students by adding a sociological perspective and sensitivity to the philosophical (philosophy of law) and historical (ancient law, history of law). The theoretical roots of the sociology of law will be analyzed within the genetic process of general sociology, and the method and aims of the discipline will be presented, with reference also to some authors of which in-depth readings will be provided.
