The course deals with the fundamental themes connected to the relationship between computer science and law, both on the practical side and on the theoretical side.

Educational objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with the necessary tools to deal with (even through the use of a correct technical language) the different situations in which the jurist may have to relate to informatics related issues, both in the study of law and in the examination practical in some contexts in which the legal skills acquired during the degree course and information technology are jointly involved.
Prerequisites
It is necessary, for the purpose of understanding the topics of the course, the possession of the basic notions of computer science, the ability to use fundamental programs such as those for online communications and word processing.

Learning verification modality
For non-attending students: the test consists of an oral exam (as allowed by the evolution of the pandemic situation) or an online exam, via the UniStudium platform, with limited time and multiple choice questions (with at least 15 questions) and / or essay questions; the questions relate to the program identified by the teacher, and will be considered the knowledge of the subject, the use of the appropriate technical language, the ability to reason, the logic of the argument and the learning of the methodology. The duration of the exam depends on the course’s evolution or on the quality of questions proposed.

The following alternative exam methods are available for attending students:
1) via UniStudium platform, a multiple choice test (with at least 10 questions) will be proposed with regard on the subject of the lessons and supplementary materials made available. The test must be completed within a limited period of time;
2) producing an essay, on a topic agreed with the teacher, concerning a theme compatible with the subject of the course. The essay must have a minimum number of 10,000 characters, including spaces, and must be delivered by email (to the teacher's email address) at least 48 hours before the exam begins. The content of the thesis is presented during the examination. The originality of the contents will be verified using the University software.
3) exam (oral, face-to-face or online) according to the procedures envisaged for non-attending students, on the topics covered in class and the subject of in-depth material made available by the teacher.
