Contents
The course is divided into three parts:
First part (12 h): introduction to the course and a brief excursus on the transition from the life cycle concept to life. The transformation of the family and its effects in today's society, especially in the Italian context. The "making family" today and the changes in the lifestyles of male and female social roles.
Second part (12 h): analysis of the research on the living conditions of men and women to understand the socio-cultural approach in the western context, in particular, in the Italian one, and to provide a picture of the issues surrounding the present life situations , Work and training of men and women.
Third part (12h) reflection on the approach of gender differences, and differences in social, cultural and economic conditions that distinguish the reality of the family and its components (parents, children, grandparents) in their relationship and generational comparison (Young people, adults, the elderly).

Educational objectives
The course is divided into three parts:
First part (12 h):
The main acquisitions will be:
Knowledge of the life cycle and course of life;
Fundamental characteristics of family transformations and "family making";
The main skills (the ability to apply acquired knowledge) will be:
To analyze male and female social roles;
Identify today's social constraints;
To evaluate the socialization processes and the role of plurilingual agencies.
Second part (12 h)
The main acquisitions will be:
Knowledge of the living conditions of men and women in Western societies;
Fundamental features of the Italian socio-economic context;
The main skills (ie the ability to apply acquired knowledge) will be:
To analyze today's socio-economic and cultural conditions;
To evaluate issues related to current situations of life, work and training.
Third part (12 h):
The main acquisitions will be:
Knowledge of aspects regarding gender studies;
Fundamental characteristics of social, economic and cultural differences;
Knowledge about today's reality of relationality among generations in the family.
The main skills (the ability to apply acquired knowledge) will be:
Know how to analyze the theoretical and research context of gender differences;
Identify the critical elements of the theoretical approach itself;
To evaluate the importance of inter-and intra-generation social relationalism in the family context.
Prerequisites
In order to be able to deepen and develop a critical analysis of the issues that will be addressed in the course, you must know the basics of general sociology. In specific knowledge concerning: the social roles, the concept of social status and the reasons for the transition from traditional society to modern society.
Teaching methods
The course will be held with front-page lessons and group work for thematic insights, reserved for attending students. In addition, seminars will be organized by the teacher in collaboration with colleagues from the Department and other outside students at the University on topics related to the course.
The material presented has lesson will be placed on the Unistudium platform, to which the course students will have to enroll.
Other information
Follow integrative seminars that will be organized by the teacher or by colleagues of the CdS on issues of deepening.
Frequency is strongly recommended but not mandatory.
Learning verification modality
The exam includes an oral and / or exposure of a paper on a specific theme assigned, either autonomously or in groups.The oral exam in a discussion lasting about 15-20 minutes, aimed at ascertaining the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by students on the theoretical and methodological implications mentioned in the program. The questions focus on the program as described by the teacher in the relevant data, taking into account to verify the communication skills of the student / or properties of language and autonomous organization of the exhibition, to the knowledge of the subject, the ability to reason, to the logic of 'argument and learning the method devised by the individual teaching.The exposure of the elaborate consists exclusively or completion of the oral examination in the discussion of a topic chosen from among those covered in class with a depth that can be done according to the following methodology: presentation of a case to the class with theoretical references and research, statistical data and conclusions personal criticism. Such work may be presented in power point (or other software program) or only orally, but both in a special meeting held in the presence of all the students, either individually or as a team.
Extended program
The course aims to analyze the change and the reality of the family in Italy with a theoretical and methodological research. The methods of "do family" will be the center of the lessons to identify new social roles for women and men in the light of the research conducted to date on the subject. The results of these will be the opportunity to understand the socio-cultural approach in this Western context, in particular, in the Italian one, to offer a framework of issues concerning the current situations of life, work and training of men and women. In this context it will be primarily the privileged, the point of view of gender differences, but also of the social, cultural and economic conditions that distinguish the reality of the family and its members (parents, children, grandparents), in their report and generational confrontation (youth, adults, seniors). This analysis is aimed at the understanding of the future role of the operators of the social and educational sector: educators, trainers and coordinators of educational interventions.
