Contents Programma:
Introduction at the deafness:
•Diagnostic process: tests and evaluation instruments divided by age and period of onset of the disease.
•Type of hearing loss.
•Therapeutic program and speech therapy in reference to the various stages of child development and age of onset of the disease; role of the family in the therapeutic project; role of speech therapist in the therapeutic course and in the family counseling.
•Hearing aids, their function and use.
•Cochlear implant, features, function and use in children and adults.

Auditory perception:
•Development of audio perception
•Evaluation of auditory perception
•Education for auditory perception

Habilitation and/or rehabilitation in infant hearing loss:
•Treatment targets: draw up the therapeutic project
•Developing sensory perceptual skills
•Language development
•Development of the phono-articulatory skills
•School acquisitions
•Emotional and social growth

Educational objectives Risultati: the student should be able to draw up a project / speech therapy program for taking charge of the patient with hearing loss starting from specialized medical exams.
Prerequisites Principal logopedic assessment methods of communication and language disorders, specifically in the evaluation of the communicative and language skills of children with hypoacusia
