Contents It starts from the observation method for a comparison between normal and phatological movement sequences as a manifestation of CNS lesions with particular reference stroke.
It proceeds with:
the activities of teaching tutorial aimed at acquiring manual dexterity as evaluative instrument and treatment by passing throug the awareness of the importance of contact in the therapist-patient dialogue tonic
the general principles of the assessment and with particular depth treatment of the therapeutic tools of placing and guiding in the manifestation of the perceptual disturbance
the therapeutic task specific exercise and context dependent consistent with the efficacy data available in the literature

Educational objectives Conduct an observation following the principles of observational methodology
Recognize the manifestation of the movement of alteration in neurological patients
Identify inappopriate compensatory strategies consistent with the principles of global assessment of the patient
Make a manual guide can asses local issues such as the distribution of weight or general as the reciprocal innervation
Make a conscious manual guidance of somatosensory information that can convey for postural control and movement in the patient with neurological disease
Prerequisites Knowledge of the clinical frameworks of the main alterations of motor behaviour in neurological pathologies with particular reference to stroke, taking techniques and biomechanical analysis of manifestations of normal motor behaviour with Particular practical analysis of the muscular tests of the various body districts
Teaching methods Frontal lesson
Interactive teaching
Educational workshop with the use of the methods for practical learning objectives such demonstration, repeated tests, screening of movie
Other information
Learning verification modality Written test as selection criterion to support theoretical-practical examination
Extended program The lessons are designed to prepare the student to therapeutic work in neurology. They are in chronological order and organized in preparatory manner
observation of the normal sequences of movement conducted striktly for data collection and construction observation grid
analysis of the motion sequences and the prerequisites to be able identify its alterations in CNS lesions and particularly in stroke
the recognition of typical motor manifestation of neurological disease such as spasticity, the strong and weak parts of synergies, the pathological reaction to locate, in the whole of movements the inappropriate compensatory strategies that delay or prevent a selective motor control in the patient
manual guide as evaluative instrument and specific therapeutic
the therapy session as a moment of alternation evalutatio/treatment
relevance of therapeutic exercise with specific characteristics and context dependent task and especially with the guiding instrument in cases of perception disorder.
During the lessons, the teaching laboratory activities do not exhaust the learning curve necessary for the acquisition of practical skills but provide the opportunity to know and experience the various stage of the re-educational pat in neurology

Contents Neurophysiology of nociception. Clinical pictures and their rehabilitative aspects. Neuropsychology of pain syndromes
Reference texts from the instructor slides. Waldman. Atlas of Common Pain syndrome .. ER Kandel. Principles of Neuroscience. Ben Greenstein. Neuroscience (neuroanatomy and neurophysiology. Atlas Text)
Educational objectives The main objective of teaching is to provide students with elements related to nociception in neurological diseases and not, from the point of view that somatic neuropsychological. Additively the course will also address the neurobiological bases of learning and communication between health care worker and the sick person. To this end, the latter, must be evaluated in rehabilitation not as an isolated representation of a specific disease, but in a holistic manner, underlining the importance of the cognitive and applicational synthesis between EBM (evidence-based medicine) and ENM (narrative evidence medicines)
The main knowledge gained will be:
- The most common pain syndromes
- Difference between acute and chronic pain
- Neurochemistry of pain
- Modifications neuropsychological and induced pain consciousness
- Pain in the vegetative and minimally conscious
- The body schema in pain
The main skills (ie the ability to apply their knowledge) will be:
- Application of pain scales
- To recognize the soma and psyche changes caused by pain
- Do not exacerbate the pain with maneuvers rehabilitation improper
- Apply rehabilitation techniques can reduce the painful symptoms
- Approach to the patient not only from the perspective of the "disease" but also of "illness" and "sickness"
- Learning imitative through the mirror neuron
- To acquire a forecasting method, scientific evidence relating the outcome of every single person treated
Prerequisites Neuroanatomy, Neurophysiology
Teaching methods Lectures. The method requires extensive interaction between teachers and students on the educational workshop model.
