- The most important diseases of the oral cavity of domestic and unconventional animal species are described.
In particular periodontal disease in dogs and cats is examined. Furthermore, the principles of endodontics and orthodontics are discussed.
The techniques of dental extraction and treatment of traumatic and neoplastic lesions of the oral cavity are described.

- D1 - KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student must
-to acquire the necessary knowledge to recognize the symptoms of the main dental pathologies.
D2 - ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the training, the student must:
-know how to perform the clinical examination of the mouth.
-know how to apply the main techniques for the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease, to perform surgical and non-surgical extractions and for the surgical treatment of neoplastic pathologies of the mouth.
D3 - AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
At the end of the training, the student must be able to:
- evaluate the presence of pathologies of dental interest.
- evaluate the opportunity to intervene surgically.
D4 - COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At the end of the training, the student must be able to:
- knowing how to organize, prepare and present a presentation on a clinical case of dental interest to an audience made up of people of the same level of preparation. with their own assessments supported by appropriate arguments,
- support a cross-examination with people both of equal preparation and experts in different topics, of a scientific, procedural and / or technological nature,
- demonstrate language properties.
