Contents
Practical activity to be carried out on clinical cases at the OVUD facilities or at farms. Clinical cases on small and large animals will be discussed starting from the symptomatology and continuing with the diagnostic-therapeutic procedure.

Educational objectives
D1 KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ABILITY
The Student must:
the main diseases of the digestive system of large and small animals:
the main diagnostic techniques applicable to the digestive system of large and small animals;
the principles of the treatment of diseases of the digestive system of large and small animals.
D2 CAPACITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ABILITY
At the end of the training activity the Student must be able to:
issue a clinical diagnosis (of suspicion) of the pathology of the digestive system of the individual animal or group of animals:
propose a diagnostic in-depth protocol, if necessary;
propose an adequate therapeutic treatment.
D3 AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
At the end of the training activity the Student must be able to:
issue your diagnosis, choose the diagnostic protocol and propose treatment without external influences.
D4 COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At the end of the training activity the Student must be able to:
know how to communicate with colleagues, animals owners and organizations
Prerequisites
The Student must have passed the examination of Internal medicine I. The Student should have acquired a good clinical practice in both large and small animals .
Teaching methods
he first day is dedicated to your club to check the level of knowledge and to mix the group with the discussion.
The following days are all dedicated to the practical activities on animals in OVUD or in livestock farms

Students must be provided with appropriate clothes for clinical activities in OVUD and in farm, including safety shoes and boots.Students must have a phonendoscope.
Learning verification modality
The idoneativa test is based on the clinical examination of one or more animals and on the discussion of clinical cases (100%)
Extended program
Yournal club: discussion of scientific articles concerning the gastroenterology of small and large animals, Clinical examination and collegial discussion of the diagnostic-therapeutic protocol in small animals (dog and cat). Clinical examination and collegial discussion of the diagnostic-therapeutic protocol in large animals (equidae and ruminants).
