Educational objectives
The candidate must be able to carry out a correct diagnostic path within the main neoplastic conditions of companion animals.

The course represents the first teaching dedicated to the management of surgical neoplastic diseases of children.

The main objective of the course is to provide, through practical sessions, the bases for dealing with the main oncological diseases in domestic animals.
The emphasis of the Oncology course is to furnish sufficient clinical knowledge and skills to practice veterinary oncology surgery in small animals, and also to provide with the scientific background to respond to future trends and advances in veterinary Oncology.
Prerequisites
The candidate must have followed the course of Veterinary Surgery I and II.
The course represents the first teaching dedicated to the management of surgical neoplastic diseases of small animals.
Teaching methods
The main knowledge acquired will be those focused above all on the evaluation of the patient (medical history and signaling), the diagnostic procedure to be followed and the surgical planning to be implemented.

The main skills (ie the ability to apply the acquired knowledge) will be the acquisition by the student of practically managing cases of oncology in small animals from diagnosis to surgical therapy.
Learning verification modality
Final discussion with the students. Preparation of power points about previously assigned clinical cases, in order to assess the methods of approach to the clinical case and the knowledge acquired during ADE in relation to etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, and therapy
