- Library activities for the management of scientific information (research, selection, utilization) and writing of: publications, theses, research projects and proposal

- There are no textbooks. Didactic materials and bibliographical references will be provided at the lesson

- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student will have ability to:
- assess independently, consciously and critically the type and relevance of information literacy
- critically analyzing scientific information
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course the student must have developed the following skills:
- use the sources in a relevant and legally correct way
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
The student must be able to argue the character and relevance of scientific information using such ability for its lifelong learning
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At the end of the course, the student must be able to organize texts for scientific communication sustained by complete and updated references.
LIFELONG LEARNING SKILLS
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- integrate autonomously the acquired knowledge by consulting and understanding scientific texts, bibliographic updates, so as to employ them in different contexts, including research or the production of original texts - Prerequisites

- Teaching methods
- Computer lab practice and training at the Veterinary and Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute libraries. Five meetings are scheduled (5 hours each; from 9 am to 14 pm).
- Other information
- Depending on availability of computers and libraries' receptivity, a maximum of 10 students are admitted.
- Learning verification modality
- There is no final test. Acquisition of course credits, is conditioned by the participation, at least 80% of the scheduled hours
- Extended program
- Introduction: how to use the available bibliographic resources: Unipg online Catalog, databases, e-journals, e-books.
Linking resolver and discovery tool to ease the bibliographic research and publication retrieval.
Exercitations on scientific databases (eg PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science). Free access to electronic resources from an external network, through the credentials authentication system, reserved for Unipg registred users.
Access to the Library system to obtain scientific articles and take advantage of the interlibrary loan services .
Introduction to bibliographic citation systems and scientometric indexes, for the evaluation of articles and researcher careers.
