Contents
The course offers an overview of the fields of application of Legal Medicine, with particular attention to certain aspects.
The first part is devoted to the analysis of the crime scene, the role and importance of the legal practitioner in the phase of judicial review. Following are the applications of Forensic Tanatology to examine the victim:

- determination of the age of death;
- determining the vitality and / or post-mortality of injuries;
- compatibility between injuries and weapons used;
- identification of the victim.

In this context, principles of Forensic Entomology and Botany are provided as disciplines recently incorporated in forensic investigations.

Educational objectives
The aim of the course is to provide the student with the basic knowledge for the proper conduct of any professional activity (on civil and criminal liability), with particular attention to investigations and safety in the workplace.
Prerequisites
In order to understand most of the topics discussed in the course, the student must have basic knowledge in the field of biology and mathematics.

This prerequisite is valid for attending and non-attending students
