- General properties of viruses and virus classification. Virus replication: steps n the virus replication cycle and groups of viruses according to the main strategies used for macromolecules synthesis (protein and nucleic acids). Structure, replication strategies and pathogenetic mechanisms of Subviral agents as satellite viruses, viroids and prions. The process of infection (acute, persistent infections, pathogenetic mechanism of virus of the main falimies givin infection in the humans). Control of viral infections: a) natural and adaptative immunity, interferon; b) virus vaccines. Antiviral drugs.
