Contents
The italian Quaternary, the ice ages, climatic changes during the last My; the sea level fluctuations and related morphology. Marine and continental fauna. IS (isothopic stages); the lacustrine basins of Italy ; Stratigraphy and Magnetostratigraphy; The Faunal Mammal Units; Paleoflora and paleocarpological analysis. Biostratigraphy of marine and continental sequences.

Educational objectives
Knowledges on marine and continental Quaternary, with particular attention to the Mediterranean area and Italian regions.
Prerequisites
Fondaments of Geology and Paleontology.
Teaching methods
Theoretical lessons and practical training. Seminars, Field trip, Seminar lectures with audiovisual material
Learning verification modality
Preparation of a short paper, and a multimedia presentation on a topic of the course chosen by the student and agreed with the teacher.
The material, mainly scientific publications (in English or Italian) to prepare the thesis and the presentation in ppt, will be
provided by the teacher.
