COM Ed. - Educational objectives
- knowledge of the methodological and operational aspects of the cours and ability to use this knowledge in order to describe and solve engineering problems.
- Prerequisites
- In order to understand and know how to apply the topic of this course it is important to have followed and possibly passed the exam of the course Mathematics I and Geometry.
In particular the knowledge required to understand the contents of the course and achieve the educational goals are: trigonometry, geometry of the plane and space, study of the functions, techniques of derivation and integration, numerical series. - Teaching methods
- Theoretical lessons and practical training
- Other information
- During the written test only the textbooks adopted can be consulted and the use of any other paper or digital material is forbidden. It is also banned the use of mobile phones.
- Learning verification modality
- The method of verification of the learning results of the analysis module is divided in three phases:
a written exam of 3 hours, a practical part (solution of an linear differential equation of second degree) and an oral examination of more or less 40 minutes. The written test includes the solution of three exercises on topics covered in the program and is designed to verify the ability to correctly apply the theoretical knowledge, the understanding of the exercices proposed and the ability to communicate in writing. The paractical part can be performed at any time, upon agreement with the teacher, and it is valid forever. The oral test is designed to assess the level of knowledge and the understanding reached by the student on the contents listed in the program, this test also used for verifying the presentation skills of the student. It must be performed in the same session of the written exam.
The tests together allow to ensure the ability to:
- Knowledge and understanding,
- Apply the skills acquired,
- Exposition,
- Develop solutions. - Extended program
- Series, scalar and vector-valued functions of several variables;
function series; linear differential equations and applications;
multiple integration; curves and surfaces, lines and surfaces integrals; differential forms, potentials.
