- VERIFICATION OF THE KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE ATTENDANCE OF THE COURSE OF STUDY THROUGH A COMPULSORY EVALUATION TEST OF INDICATIVE AND NON-SELECTIVE NATURE; IF THE TEST IS NOT PASSED, THE STUDENT WILL BE GIVEN ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL OBLIGATIONS AND WILL BE GRANTED WITH ALIGNMENT COURSES. - THIS 5-YEAR DEGREE IN LAW PROGRESSIVELY LEADS THE STUDENT INTO THE PRINCIPLES, THE STRUCTURES, FUNCTIONS AND DISCIPLINES OF THE MAIN LEGAL INSTITUTIONS OF INTERNAL LAW, INTERNATIONAL LAW, AND EUROPEAN UNION LAW. THE COURSE OFFERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LAW AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PERUGIA AIMS IN PARTICULAR AT THE FORMATION OF JURISTS/LAWYERS WHO, AWARE OF LEGAL TRADITION AND IN POSSESSION OF A ROBUST CULTURAL FOUNDATION, ARE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH FELLOW JURISTS/LAWYERS AND OPERATORS OF LAW BELONGING TO DIVERSE LEGAL SYSTEMS, IN A LEGAL REALITY INCREASINGLY INFLUENCED BY TODAY’S PROCESSES OF GLOBALISATION. THE PURPOSE OF OFFERING A DEGREE CONFORMING TO THE EUROPEAN STANDARD, AND PREPARING STUDENTS TO PRACTISE THEIR FUTURE PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AT TRANSNATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL, MEANS SOME OF THE TEACHING IS DELIVERED IN ENGLISH. CRITICAL ABILITY TO INTERPRET AND TO ANALYSE CASE STUDY IS SUPPORTED BEYOND THE CLASSROOM THROUGH NEW INNOVATIVE LEARNING THEORY-PRACTICE FORMS (LEGAL CLINICS, ACTUAL CASE SIMULATION, LEGAL WRITING LABS) THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE FORMATION OF GRADUATES ABLE TO DEAL WITH APPLICATIVE PROBLEMS OF LAW AND TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF PERTINENT COMPETENCES FOR THE WORKPLACE. INTERNSHIPS WITH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ENTITIES ALLOW THE UNDERGRADUATE TO TRANSLATE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE INTO PRE-PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE. FURTHER POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES LIE IN RESEARCH DOCTORATES AND WITH THE DEPARTMENT’S PROFESSORS, THE SPECIALIZATION SCHOOL FOR THE LEGAL PROFESSIONS.

- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE MASTER’S GRADUATE IN LAW KNOWS STRUCTURE, FUNCTION AND DISCIPLINE OF THE PRINCIPAL LEGAL INSTITUTIONS ,BOTH SUBSTANTIVE AND PROCEDURAL, IN NATIONAL LAW; KNOWS THE PRINCIPAL INSTITUTIONS OF INTERNATIONAL AND COMMUNITY LAW; CAN ELABORATE SOLUTIONS FROM DOCTRINE AND LAW, THEIR ORIGINS, THEIR PATHWAY AND SUBSEQUENT MODIFICATIONS DURING CIRCULATION; UNDERSTANDS LEGAL TEXTS ALSO SCRIPTED IN A FURTHER EU LANGUAGE AS WELL AS ITALIAN. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE MASTER’S GRADUATE IN LAW ACQUIRES THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND, ALSO FROM A HISTORICAL AND COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE, LEGAL PROBLEMS UNDER THEIR OWN ASSESSMENT, CONSTRUCT APPROPRIATE AND REASONED SOLUTIONS, SCRIPT CLEAR PERTINENT, EFFICIENT LEGAL TEXTS CONCERNING THE APPLICABLE CONTEXT, WELL-ARGUED, AND ALSO EMPLOYING SUITABLE TECHNOLOGICAL INSTRUMENTS. INNOVATIVE TEACHING TOOLS (LEGAL CLINICS, CASE STUDY SIMULATION, LEGAL WRITING LABS) AND ACTIVITIES SUCH AS INTERNSHIPS WITH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ENTITIES LEAD TO THE TRANSLATION OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE INTO PRE-PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES, THAT FACILITATE OCCUPATION IN THE WORKPLACE.
- Qualification requirements and regulations
- ADMISSION TO THE FINAL TEST FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE QUALIFICATION WILL REQUIRE THAT THE STUDENT HAS ACQUIRED ALL THE CREDITS FORESEEN IN THE STUDY PLAN FOR TRAINING ACTIVITIES OTHER THAN THE FINAL TEST. THE FINAL TEST FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE QUALIFICATION IS PUBLIC AND CONSISTS OF THE PRESENTATION OF A THESIS WORK TO A SPECIAL COMMISSION. THE THESIS, AN ORIGINAL WRITTEN PIECE OF WORK PREPARED UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF A RELATOR, CAN CONCERN ANY SUBJECT FOLLOWED ON THE COURSE OF STUDY NOTWITHSTANDING EVENTUAL RELATIVE EXAMINATION ON THAT SUBJECT. THE THESIS CAN BE WRITTEN AND DISCUSSED IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE BUT IN SUCH A CASE THE CANDIDATE MUST PRESENT A SYNTHESIS IN ITALIAN.
- Examination regulations and grading scale
- Examination regulations and grading scale ASSESSMENT IS NORMALLY AN ORAL EXAM; IN SOME CASES THERE ARE INTERMEDIATE EXAMS DURING THE COURSE. THE GRADES FOR SUBJECT EXAMS ARE MEASURED IN THIRTIETHS (0-30 SCALE), THE MINIMUM GRADE IS 18/30 AND THE MAXIMUM GRADE IS 30/30. THE MAXIMUM GRADE CAN BE ENHANCED WITH “CUM LAUDE” (30 CUM LAUDE), IN CASE OF EXCELLENCE. GRADES ARE GIVEN BY AN EXAM COMMISSION OF AT LEAST TWO TEACHERS, WHOSE PRESIDENT IS THE CHAIR OF THE SUBJECT. THE MAIN EXAM SESSIONS ARE HELD IN DECEMBER, JANUARY/FEBRUARY, MARCH/APRIL, JUNE/JULY, SEPTEMBER. STUDENTS MAY RETAKE EXAMS, IF NOT PASSED. THE UNIVERSITY PROVIDES AN ECTS GRADING TABLE, WHICH SHOWS THE ACTUAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE EXAMINATION AND FINAL GRADES AMONG STUDENTS FOR EACH DEGREE PROGRAMME. THE FINAL DEGREE EVALUATION IS EXPRESSED IN ONE HUNDRED AND TENTHS (0-110 SCALE), THE MINIMUM GRADE IS 66/110 AND THE MAXIMUM GRADE IS 110/110. THE CALCULATION OF THE FINAL GRADE OF EACH CANDIDATE TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE AVERAGE OF THE GRADES OBTAINED IN THE SUBJECT EXAMS, AS WELL AS THE QUALITY OF THE WORK PERFORMED IN RESEARCH OR IN THE FINAL THESIS WHICH IS DISCUSSED IN PUBLIC BEFORE AN EXAM COMMISSION. “CUM LAUDE” (110 CUM LAUDE) MAY BE ADDED TO THE MAXIMUM GRADE IF THE EXAM COMMISSION DECIDES UNANIMOUSLY.
