- Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
- The verification of the possession of the curricular requirements will be done through a non-selective access test, the modalities of which will be indicated in the didactic Regulation of the course of study. Foreign students are required to take a test to verify their proficiency of the Italian language, except Erasmus Incoming students, Exchange Students and students in mobility as per the Cooperation Agreement
- Profile of the programme
- The CdS, divided into 6 curricula, is characterized by its strong interest in philosophy in the relationship with civil economy, psychology, anthropology, and of course with ethics. The CdS aims at a general knowledge of the historical evolution of philosophical, philosophical-economic, ethical-political and psycho-pedagogical thought. In particular, it aims to develop the ability to use the theoretical and methodological tools of philosophical investigation, with particular attention to the critical analysis of argumentation and conceptual connections.
- Programme learning outcomes
- - The expected learning outcomes are as follows: - the understanding of the underlying reasons for philosophical problems in view of a personal elaboration of general and specific issues affecting the human being, his relationship with nature, the link with cultural and religious traditions; - the acquisition, also defined by the possible choice of a specific curriculum, of skills in dialogue with the human sciences, in particular with anthropology and psychology, and with the economic sciences. - the acquisition of an ability to interpret the problems of communication in different contexts of life both in cognitive and ethical terms; - the advanced knowledge, in written and oral form, of at least one European Union language other than Italian, with reference also to disciplinary lexicons. - the development of the capacity of theoretical elaboration of questions concerning man in his social, political and religious dimension; - the acquisition of further cultural bases necessary for the teaching of philosophy, with reference also to the historical, psychological, sociological and pedagogical aspects of teaching and learning.
- Qualification requirements and regulations
- Admission to the final test for the achievement of the qualification will require that the student has acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan for training activities other than the final test. The final test for the achievement of the qualification is public and consists of the presentation of a thesis work to a special commission. The final paper will be followed and coordinated by a course teacher who takes on the role of speaker. The rapporteur can be supported by a co-rapporteur throughout the course of the elaboration. The co-supervisors may also be non-faculty members of the University who in any case supervised the ongoing work as an expert on the problems faced by the candidate. The discussion of the final exam is carried out before specific commissions composed of at least 7 members and no more than 11 university professors and researchers. The Rector appoints the Final Test Commission and its President, upon proposal of the Director of the Department after consultation with the Coordinators of the CDS. The final exam includes 9 credits.
- Examination regulations and grading scale
- Assessment is normally an oral or written exam; in some cases there are intermediate exams during the course; other evaluation elements (seminars, reports, etc.) can be foreseen in specific course units and are described in the Course Unit Profiles. The grades for subject exams are measured in thirtieths (0-30 scale), the minimum grade is 18/30 and the maximum grade is 30/30. The maximum grade can be enhanced with “cum laude” (30 cum laude), in case of excellence. Grades are given by an exam commission of at least two teachers, whose President is the chair of the subject. The main exam sessions are held in January/February, April, June/July, September. Students may retake exams, if not passed. The University provides an ECTS Grading Table, which shows the actual distribution of the examination and final grades among students for each degree program. The final degree evaluation is expressed in one hundred and tenths (0-110 scale), the minimum grade is 66/110 and the maximum grade is 110/110. The calculation of the final grade of each candidate takes into account the average of the grades obtained in the subject exams, as well as the quality of the work performed in research or in the final thesis which is discussed in public before an exam commission. “Cum laude” (110 cum laude) may be added to the maximum grade if the exam commission decides unanimously.
- Obligatory or optional mobility windows
- No mobility windows were foreseen in the design of the study program.
- Work-based learning
- For all curricula (except for the Civil Economy one) the 150 hours provided (6 CFU) can be divided into 125 hours dedicated to the classroom internship at secondary schools or affiliated institutions, including the University of Perugia itself - as an internal internship - (with support activities for teaching or related activities provided by the host institution) and 25 hours to be carried out in seminars and conferences organized by the Department. For the Civil Economy curriculum, instead, the 150 hours will be dedicated for 125 hours to the internship activity in the company (with activities related to the carrying out of tasks and projects in collaboration with the partner institutions), while the remaining 25 hours will be carried out in workshops and seminars organized by the Department. In particular, the student identifies, together with the Training Internship Manager, the company or institution in which he intends to carry out the internship among those that have an agreement or, if possible, further agreements are opened. At the end of the internship period the student presents the internship report and the attendance sheet to the tutor. The Internship Manager sends the list of students who have completed the internship (attaching the certificates of completion of the same internship) to the secretary who will update the student's career. The assignment of CFU corresponds to the internship activity carried out.
- Occupational profiles of graduates
- Graduates will be able to perform highly responsible functions in the following areas: - press and/or intermediary communication centres, public relations services, personnel management in the administrative sector in public bodies or private companies; - management of libraries or museums; - exhibitions, literary awards and other cultural activities requiring particular skills in the aesthetic, literary and historical-artistic fields; - publishing; - organization of refresher courses in the field of bioethics, environmental ethics and more generally applied ethics directed in particular at health care professionals and other interested sectors; continuous consultancy in the same sectors; - collaboration with social services and offices responsible for promoting cultural activities in the public administration; - marketing and creative advertising; - assistance in the design and management of vocational training courses. Graduates who will have credits in sufficient number in appropriate groups of sectors, as provided for by the legislation in force, will be able to participate in the admission tests for training courses for secondary education. In addition, a master's degree is a necessary requirement for the admission tests for the PhD.
