- - Formal requirements are: Italian First cycle qualification (Laurea) in Class 34 (D.M. 509/99) or L-24 (D.M. 270/04) or foreign equivalent in the same or related subject area, or a qualification in Psychology in unique five-year degree (old system), or any others first cycle qualification, Master’s degree, old system’s degree, providing that students have acquired skills in the psychology Scientific-Disciplinary Sectors and ECTS required in the academic regulation of the course of study; another degree, or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable, having acquired ECTS in the Scientific Disciplinary Sectors indicated in the academic regulation of the course study; another degree, or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable (not perfectly consistent with the requirements but with a high cultural and professional background as evidenced by the individual curriculum), with respect to which the Board of the course study deliberates.
- Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
- Verification of the possession of the curricular requirements with the methods indicated in the academic regulation of the course of study Foreign students are required to take a test to verify their proficiency of the Italian language, except Erasmus Incoming students, Exchange Students and students in mobility as per the Cooperation Agreement
- Profile of the programme
- The Master's degree course includes two curricula. The first year is more focused on teaching characterizing and related disciplines. One distinctive feature of the course is the provision of courses in related disciplines from the medical area, in addition to the teachings in characterizing psychological subjects. In the second year, the practical traineeship and the dissertation play an important role. The internship is a fundamental element of the training, allowing the training experience to be oriented towards work and to create synergy between university training and the world of work. This training allows a professional preparation that makes the graduate able to cope with the current demands of society and of the world of work.
- Programme learning outcomes
- Graduate students will show: - ability to work in clinical and rehabilitation contexts, in the life-cycle, with individuals, couples, families, groups and institutions; - knowledge of models around psychological functioning, for well-being promotion, for diagnosis - understanding of tools, methods and techniques for collecting data on psychological functioning, planning interventions, assessment, neuroimaging; - basic knowledge of pharmacology, neurology, and medical semeiology; - ability to make independent judgement and to communicate with non-experts and specialist
- Qualification requirements and regulations
- Admission to the final examination requires that the student has acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan for teaching and training activities. The final examination consists of a public discussion of the thesis to a committee expert in the field. The thesis consists of an original writing, conforming to characteristics of scientific quality, carried out in substantial autonomy. It can concern an empirical research or a bibliographical research not limited to a simple compilation.
- Examination regulations and grading scale
- The oral and/or written exam uses a 30-point scale with a minimum pass mark of 18. The commission includes 2 professors, experts in the field. There are 4 exam sessions. For final degree, a 110-point scale is used with a minimum of 66 and a maximum score of 110, sometimes with the addition of lode.
- Obligatory or optional mobility windows
- The mobility windows are flexible according to specific student’s teaching and training needs over the 2 years. Credits obtained during the mobility are recognized when they are complementary or compatible with the ones planned by the course of study.
- Work-based learning
- The traineeship is a fundamental element of the training, an essential opportunity for students to gain experience of the profession in the field of work and strengthen the connection between the training and the world of work. The traineeship can be carried out in public health services and in private institutions and cooperatives, representative of the reality of the psychological profession at the national level. Thanks to the European Erasmus+ Traineeship programme it is possible to carry out a traineeship period in a foreign company or body.

- Graduate students can carry out high responsibility functions in organizations and services for individuals, groups, communities (school, health, public administration, companies) and professional activities in the clinical, rehabilitation and training fields.
