- At the end of the study the student will be able to acquire the basic knowledge of the fundamental principles of biochemical methodologies in the biomedical field.
- Prerequisites
- The course aims to address issues concerning the Applied Medical Biochemistry that the students will be able to face after acquisition of the basic knowledge of General and Molecular Biochemistry. It is essential that the student have acquired the knowledges of structure and function of biological macromolecules and basic mechanisms underlying many processes of cell regulation.
- Teaching methods
- The course is organized as follows: Lectures on all subjects of the course
- Learning verification modality
- The test requires a single oral exam during which the student will answer questions concerning issues of the lectures and listed in the program on the teaching. The exam includes several questions with open answer. During the interview the student will demonstrate consistency with the question referred, clarity and accuracy of scientific terminology, and ability to transfer knowledge even through graphic representations.

• Blood: separation of the fluid portion from the corpuscular portion: Hemochromocytometric examination. Red cell parameters, leukocytes and platelets
• Vitamin K and coagulation factors: prothrombin time, thromboplastin and fibrinogen
