- The course offers information on the principles of nutraceutical and functional products, their methods of preparation, mechanism of action and use as adjuvants in particular pathologies, in order to provide prerequisites for the use of nutraceuticals in health management. Relationship and / or synergies of nutraceuticals with conventional therapies.

- The course aims to provide students with the knowledge of nutraceuticals currently on the market and their use in health management, describing both the chemical-biological and therapeutic-applicative aspects. In particular, the course focuses on the mechanisms of action of the active principles of the various nutraceuticals in relation to therapeutic uses.

- The exam entails an oral interview of about 30-40 minutes. The oral exam aims at ascertaining the level of knowledge reached by the student on the theoretical contents reported in the program, the capacity for logical reasoning, the ability to communicate with an appropriate language.

- Definition of functional food, nutraceuticals and nutraceuticals, classification of nutraceuticals.
