Educational objectives The exercise is to test the skills reached by the student to solve simple problems regarding the calculation of Gaussian compliance of products and of basic concepts of descriptive and inferential statistic.

tension and stress in the beams and theory of De Saint Venant: essential
Teaching methods - frontal classroom lessons for all subjects in the classroom

- classroom exercises in which students will be divided into groups of three and final collegial discussion

Mechanical testing of materials: strength, elastic modulus / stiffness, failure mode, field, post-breking phase, displacements, strains, load, toughness.
Testing of: reinforced concrete structures,
masonry structures, wooden structures, glass structures.
Monitoring systems for structures.

Educational objectives The main aims of this teaching is to provide students with laboratory and testing procedures for construction and industrial materials.
Prerequisites Students are expected to have a competent knowledge of Structural Mechanics.
Teaching methods Lectures on all the subjects of the course and laboratory activities.
Other information Disabled students and/or with DSA, can contact the teacher of this course directly because she is the contact professor for disability and DSA in Engineering Department.
Learning verification modality Oral exam - of about 30 minutes long - concerning all the topics of the corse.
The completeness of the answer, the argumentative rigor and the ownership of language will be assessed.

-reological properties, defects, biotioc and a biotic attacks, shrinkage, humidity, knots, etc.

Surveys of existing wooden structures: test with penetrometer, ultrasonic tests, temperature and humidity tests.
Bending strength of structural glass.
Monitoring system: Vibrometry, optic fiber systems with Bragg sensors, digital image correlation systems.
