Contents
The first module focuses on the conceptual and theoretical framework of digital communication. Based on the classical theories of communication, the theories of the digital media will be treated in the light of the changed medial panorama and the sociocultural and technological transformations of the current information society.
The second module will address the transformations related to the dissemination of digital communication in the daily life of individuals paying particular attention to the new role taken by digital platforms.

Educational objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- demonstrate their knowledge about the main theories on digital communication and social media;
- apply, with independent judgment, the acquired knowledge to contemporary culture contexts of production and consumption.
Prerequisites

No specific prerequisities are required.
Teaching methods
Three lessons per week.
Frontal lessons, work group and discussion in the classroom.

Attendance is strongly recommended.

Learning verification modality
Oral examination. In order to understand how students learn and what they know, the oral exam is essential, in particular to evaluate the level of knowledge reached by the students on the implications mentioned during the course.
The oral exam will also test the communication skills of the student with particular attention to compliance with the rules of public speaking.

NB: Non-attending students are not required to conduct the exercise.
Attending students are exonerate to study half of the book chosen. The teacher will provide detailed instructions during the course.
