Educational objectives
To understand the technical role of Engineering Geologist for the planning of Civil Engineering works, by means of analysis of mechanical behaviour of soils and rocks. To understand the kinematics and dynamics of mass movements. Acquisition of methods for use and management of water resources (surface water and groundwater) and the related to quarrying activity. Acquisition of specific skills that form the essential basic knowledge of the professional geologist, also because the course is planned in the third year of the three-year degree course of study and it is distinctly "professionalizing". In fact the three-year degree in Geology allows the enrollment at the National Council of Geologists (Sect. B = Geologist junior).
Prerequisites

Although no mandatory prerequisite is requested, basic knowledges of general Geology and Geomorphology are considered indispensable, in order to understand the contents of this course.

Learning verification modality
Oral exam, which consists of an interview lasting between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the need, aimed at verifying the preparation of the Student about the topics covered in the course and the acquisition of specific skills that form the essential basic knowledge of the professional geologist. This because the course is planned in the third year of the three-year degree course of study and it is distinctly "professionalizing". In fact the three-year degree in Geology allows the enrollment at the National Council of Geologists (Sect. B = Geologist junior).
