Educational objectives
Knowledge or rock-forming minerals by hand sample and under optical microscope. Analusys of a mineral by a chemical composition and by X-Ray powder diffraction data
Prerequisites
chemical and physical basic knowledges
Teaching methods
face-to-face lessons, practical training, with mineral optical microscoppe and X-ray diffractometers
Other information
frequency highy recommended
Learning verification modality
The exam consists of an written test an oral and pactice presentation.

The written text consists of the solution a number of computational problems and short description of some topics: The has a duration of 2 hours and is designed to avaluate the ability to correctly apply the theoretical knoledge.

The oral exam consists on an interview of about 15 minute long aiming to ascertain the knoledge level and the understunding capability

The technical exam of about 15 minutes consists in the use od the microscope for mineralogy with the study of the principal rock forming minerals
