Educational objectives
Students will be aware of the fundamental role of public health in the health services

Students will be able to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to plan, execute, and evaluate health interventions

Students will be able to build evaluation systems of health interventions based on selected set of indicators
Prerequisites
Students should have successfully passed the epidemiology test

Fundamental: knowledge of epidemiologic method

Useful: basic knowledge of etiology and evidence based intervention to control diseases included in the course program

Theoretical lessons

Seminars with guest experts
Learning verification modality
The examination is based on a written test. An oral examination may be requested by students (optional).

Written examination

Multiple choice items

Test duration : 1h. Number of items: 30

Scope: evaluate general knowledge of fundamental public health concepts necessary for physicians (e.g. health system organization, recommended vaccinations schedules, programmed screenings). More detailed knowledge of an health intervention planning and execution (as a model of public health strategy)

Test scores are as follow: correct answer +1, no answer 0, wrong answer -0.25

After having passed the written test, students may require an oral examination. Duration of the examination: about 20 minuts. Scope of the oral examination is to integrate written test and to allow a general evaluation of knowledges on public health role and strategy built on the precise notions used in the written exam.
