- The course aims to provide the basics of toxicology and to propose the study of xenobiotic substances both as a means of investigation both in the medical and forensic fields .

- The aim of the course is to propose to students the possible toxicological effects of xenobiotics on humans. Particular attention will be dedicated to acquire important scientific, technical and legal knowledge, in relation to the abuse of illicit substances, according to current legislation (drugs, doping, drugs, etc.).

- 1-principles of toxicology: knowledge of the concepts related to toxicology (dose-effect relationship, risk, local and systemic effects, parameters for the identification of the toxic effect)
2-factors influencing the response to toxic (individual variability, by gender for age, intraspecies and interspecies)
3-Toxicokinetics: principles of absorption, biotransformation, distribution and elimination of xenobiotics
4- Toxicodynamics: interaction with functional targets. Main molecular and cellular mechanisms of toxicity
5- Methods in forensic toxicology
6- drugs for abuse: classification, mechanism of gratification and anticraving therapies
7-Major acute and chronic intoxications with diagnosis elements and antidatal therapies
8-Research of drugs in biological and non-biological material
