- Educational objectives
- The course examines the different methods of biomolecular diagnosis applied to infectious diseases of domestic animals. Therefore the main objective of the course is to provide to students with the tools needed for biomiolecolare diagnoses of infectious diseases. The main knowledge gained will be related to biomolecular methods; in particular knowledge related to diagnostic methods based on different techniques of PCR, RFLP PCR, real time PCR applied for the identification of bacteria and viruses; basic knowledge of the major infectious diseases in animals, particularly in the diagnosis
- Prerequisites
- knowledge of bacteriology and virology
- Teaching methods
- The course is organized as follows:
- classroom lessons on all the topics of the course;
-practical lesssons in the biotecnology laboratory: Students will be divided into groups (maximum 10 students per group) and they will follow twelve practical lessons consisting of f 2 hours each. - Learning verification modality
- Oral exan
