- Educational objectives
- The main objective of this course is to provide students with:
- the theoretical basis to acquire the knowledge of the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying human diseases, in particular those of the blood
- the practical basis to leverage the knowledge of such mecahnisms for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes - Prerequisites
- A solid knowledge of the following subjects is required:
Genetics

Molecular biology
General biology with elements of cytology and histology
Principles of anatomy and general physiology
Biochemistry
Farmacology
Basic bioinformatics and systems biology - Teaching methods
- Theoretical and practical lessons
To give continuity to educational activities, during the pandemic caused by COVID-19, we used the UNISTUDIUM platform to carry out online lessons and exams - Other information
- None
- Learning verification modality
- Single, multiple-choice written exam (31 questions; 2-hour duration; no penalization for wrong answers), which may be followed by an oral exam at the discretion of the student if obtaining a vote equal to or greater than 28/30 at the written exam.
