CONTENTS
Knowledge of haematology and laboratory diagnostics with reference to the functionality of different organs. Principles of transfusion medicine of dog and cat. During the course the students, organized in groups, have to discuss about clinical haematological cases and then expose them to promote the confrontation with other students.

Educational objectives
FORMATIVE OBJECTIVES

The course stand for the connection between the information acquired during the course of “Laboratory Diagnostics and Comparative Clinical Hematology” and their functional, clinical and prognostic meaning. To know.
The student must be able to identify the investigations that have to be performed, the mode of execution and interpretation of the results. Furthermore students have to know how to approach to the diagnosis. Know-how
The student must know how to:
-prepare biological samples for the execution of the most appropriate investigations of the case
-stamp and store the samples
- use laboratory equipment
- relate the laboratory data to the clinical case
- orientate between differential diagnoses

REQUIREMENTS

it is necessary to have successfully completed the examination of Laboratory Diagnostics and Clinical Hematology to understand the contents and achieve the learning objectives of the course, as well as to apply the main techniques and methodologies described during the course.
This knowledge is a necessary requirement for the student who wants to follow the course with profit

To prepare the student to the preparation and presentation of a clinical case

Hematological cases, representative for different pathologies, are examined with also related biochemical analysis
