- 1. Dog and cat ethology and practical observation of animal behavior. Emotions and animal welfare.
2. Legislation on kennels / catteries. Feline colonies. Role of the ASL veterinarian. Ill-treatment and abandonment. Shelter Quality assessment protocol.
3. RandAgiamo project: operational protocols, environmental and social enrichment programs. The kennel as a zooanthropological garrison. Adoption management and follow up.
4. Health management of kennels / kittens Collaboration with the OVUD.
Behavioral management: individual and group.

- Educational objectives
- The course aims to offer a theoretical - practical training course in the kennels / catteries, in particular:
a) behavioral prevention and management
b) prevention and health management
c) management
of dogs and cats in structures and management of adoptions
d) protection and promotion of animal welfare
e) enhancement of the human-animal relationship
f) assessment of animal welfare at the dog shelter
g) fundamental and application of the RandAgiamo project - Teaching methods

- 1. Dog and cat ethology. Behavioral management of the puppy, adult and elderly. Practical observation of animal behavior. Qualitative assessment of behavior. Emotions and animal welfare. Bioethics.
2. National and regional legislation on kennels / catteries. Feline colonies. Role of the ASL veterinarian. Ill-treatment and abandonment, problem analysis, operational team and professionals involved, inspections and operational protocols.
Animal welfare in kennels and catteries. Shelter Quality assessment protocol.
3. RandAgiamo Project: behavioral evaluation, training, environmental and social enrichment programs. The kennel as a zooanthropological garrison. Programs and activities with the public. Adoption management and follow up.
4. Health management of kennels / catteries (prevention, general medicine, surgery). Collaboration with the OVUD. Adoption management and dog registry.
Behavioral management: individual (subjects with behavioral problems, outline of behavioral medicine) and group: social, environmental enrichment and recreational / recreational activities (team work).
5. The role of the ASL veterinarian in relations with the public, associations, institutions. Collaboration with the OVUD and the RandAgiamo project. Interpersonal communication (working in a team), staff management, communication with owners, relations with the public, animal welfare associations, adopters and communication on social networks.
