- Il corso intende offrire alcuni percorsi metodologici di approccio all'opera d'arte, ripercorrendone la diversa genesi storica, l'evoluzione critica, e la loro interazione con altri settori disciplinari paralleli, come le discipline filosofiche, sociologiche e scientifiche, che ne hanno fortemente condizionato lo sviluppo e le prospettive. Verrà affrontato l'esame diretto di alcuni casi critici, particolarmente complessi e particolarmente dibattuti dalla storiografia antica e contemporanea, come ad esempio alcune opere chiave della pittura umbra del Quattrocento e le prime opere di carattere profano di Caravaggio.
Verranno effettuate alcune lezioni di didattica della ricerca, in modo da acquisire confidenza con gli strumenti d'indagine digitale e tradizionale utili a stendere una bibliografia e a strutturare il proprio campo d'indagine. Tale percorso, strutturato attraverso lezioni e seminari pratici, sarà modellato in vista della preparazione dello studente alla stesura di una tesi di laurea. Verranno a tale proposito anche organizzate visite guidate presso le principali istituzioni culturali e centri di ricerca preposte alla conservazione e valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale come archivi e biblioteche.
Inoltre, per far conoscere allo studente le varie professionalità che una laurea in Beni culturali consente di sviluppare, verranno organizzati incontri e conferenze con le maggiori personalità delle istituzioni preposte alla tutela e alla valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale in Umbria come Soprintendenza, Musei Nazionali e civici, Regione Umbria. - Reference texts

- Greater knowledge of the main methods of analysis and interpretation of works of art and a greater awareness in the approach and in the choice of individual critical tools more responsive to their cultural distinctiveness.
In parallel, the main teaching methods of the history of art and design will be presented to explore the main conceptual issues concerning the teaching and investigation processes. The aim is to strengthen the planning and development skills of didactic activities relating to the history of art and design, taking care of the formation of a correct disciplinary language which facilitates the learning of contents and the didactic exposition of the various courses. These teaching units will be designed, both for teaching and learning, with the help of the most diverse technological tools, such as bibliographic and photographic databases, image processing programs, three-dimensional and augmented realities: these new instruments will be exploited in their intrinsic possibilities, but will be disciplined with a conscious and controlled domain of their functions. - Prerequisites
- A basic knowledge of the historical and cultural development of the history of art in Italy.
- Teaching methods
- Lectures with interactive mode and frequent involvement of the students. Lectures and speeches with leading personalities of the Cultural Heritage world such as Directors of Museums and Archives, Sovrintendenti, and directors of the Regione Umbria. Educational visits to the monuments analyzed during the course.
- Learning verification modality
- Oral examination with the submission of a scientific entry, short but punctual, concerning a work of art, documenting the implementation of a coherent critical course.
- Extended program
- The course offers some methodological approach paths to the work of art, tracing its different historical genesis, the critical developments, and their interaction with other parallel disciplines, such as philosophy, sociology and science, which have strongly conditioned its development and prospects. It will consider the direct examination of some critical cases, particularly complex and particularly debated by the ancient and contemporary history, such as the capital work of the Umbrian Renaissance, the Perugino school and the first profane paintings by Caravaggio
