Educational objectives
Knowledge of the language, texts and culture of the Goths.
Prerequisites
This is an advanced course. It is advisable for students to have passed the exam in Germanic Philology I before attending the course.
Teaching methods
Teaching hours in classroom, with help of slides. Part of the course is taught in seminar form.
Learning verification modality
The final exam will be oral (at least three questions on the program). The student should be able to answer the questions confidently and knowledgeably.
Extended program
The course looks at the language and culture of the Goths through their texts. The focus will be on the Gothic manuscripts and on the linguistic and text-critical analysis of the Gothic texts.
