Educational objectives The goal is to acquire a common terminology and to have the knowledge of the main pathologies and / or lesions of the musculoskeletal system, especially in the etiopathogenesis and clinical manifestations.

Students will acquire knowledge of the basic elements of orthopedics and sports traumatology, motion analysis, knowledge of recovery methods, simpler and typical gestures after injury and / or pathology.
Prerequisites To be able to understand and deal with teaching the course the student should have general knowledge of anatomy, physiology and general pathology

Extended program Definition of kinesiology and human movement.
History of human movement over the centuries up to the modern age.
Types of movement: voluntary movement, automatic movement, reflex movement.
Anatomo-functional elements involved in the execution of the movement: macroscopic anatomy, ultrastructural anatomy - biomechanical characteristics of the structures involved in the musculoskeletal system.
Functional anatomy of the joints with particular reference to: hip, knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow, wrist, spine.
Biomechanical analysis of movement: biomechanical instrumental evaluations currently used.
Methods for evaluating and quantifying physiological and pathological human movement.
Purpose of biomechanical functional assessments of movement: prevention, treatment, rehabilitation.
Sports movement analysis: holding the position, walking, running, jumping, throwing, throwing.
Movement analysis studies in some sports motor activities: shoulder in the gymnast, foot in the gymnast, shoulder of the pitcher, tendinopathies of the sportsman, knee of the jumper, elbow of the volleyball player, elbow and spine of the golfer, traumatic shoulder instability, multidirectional shoulder instability .
Movement analysis studies in some pathologies: lameness from escape, lameness from fall, lameness from insufficiency of the gluteus medius, steppage, unstable patella, flat foot and hollow foot in children, coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, ligament injuries of the knee.
Movement analysis in patients with multiple sclerosis and ALS.
Movement analysis in patients with neurological problems.
Movement analysis in children with orthopedic problems, P.C.I., obstetric paralysis.

Educational objectives The main teaching objective is to give the students the basis of some embryological malformations of rehabilitative interest.The main skills that students will acquire are: Knowledge of the morphogenetic processes regulating the development of the nervous system , muscle skeletal structure and  malformation causes.The main skills that allow to apply the acquired knowledge will be:identification and evaluation of targeted rehabilitative protocols.
Prerequisites To be able to understand and deal with teaching the course the student should have general knowledge of anatomy, physiology and general pathology.
Teaching methods The course is oganized with face to face lessons with slide prjection concerning the main topics of the program.

Learning verification modality The examination involves the carrying out of a written and oral test on the specific topic that varies in relation to the performance of the same test, the duration of 15/30 minutes.
Extended program General Embryology
Male genitalia and female gametogenesis: spermatogenesis and oogenesis. Ovarian cycle and uterine cycle. Fertilization and segmentation. Formation of the blastocyst and implantation in the uterus. Abnormal implants. Bilaminar and trilaminar embryo formation. Longitudinal and transverse folding of the embryo. Derivatives of the three germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm.
Formation of the human trilaminar embryo.
Description of the main embryological malformations relating to the various systems.
Teratogenic agents: drugs, caffeine, alcohol.
Clinically oriented embryology problems will be planned

Extended program Basic principles of rehabilitation in orthopedics and traumatology.
Therapeutic exercise: joint recovery, tissue elasticity recovery, muscle strengthening, muscle rebalancing, proprioceptive re-education, normal recovery and gait pattern, static and dynamic postural recovery. Method of recovering articulation through active, passive and assisted movement. Isometric, isotonic and isokinetic muscle strengthening exercises. Static and dynamic stretching exercises, methods of performing proprioceptive exercises.
Gait and gait pattern recovery in various pathological conditions of the musculoskeletal system.
Various types of physical therapies: indications and contraindications.
Examples of shoulder, knee and ankle rehabilitation.
