Diferent types of clinical research: randomised controlled clinical trials, systematic reviews, case-control studies, cohort studies, survey studies, qualitative studies. The experimental method principles: RCT structure, the control group, the random, the blind (double and single), the parallel groups, the symmetry in clinical research conduction, the completeness of follow up. Systematic reviews: methodological quality of primary studies, qualitative or quantitative summary of informations, the methanalysis, the relative risk, the odds ratio, the confidence interval, the forest plot, the weight of different studies enclosed, the heterogeneity, discussione of reasons of concordance or discordance between studies results. The measurements in biology: variability of biological phenomenon, the constants and the variables. Quantitative and qualitative, continuos or discrete variables. The measures: .the scales of measurements, the errors in measurements, accuracy, precision. Diagnostic tests: sensibility, specificity, positive/negtive predictive values. Descriptive statistics: objectives, mean, median, mode. Normal curve of distribution. Range, deviation from mean, , variance, standard deviation. Inferential statistics, the statistical model, the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis, type I and type II error, the punctual exstimate and the confidence interval. |
