The ability to organize, critically rework and expose the contents appropriately through an adequate reading of the works will be verified.
Extended program

Through the analysis of the visual sources, the writings of the artists and the ideas of the critical debate, the course will analyze the main lines of Italian artistic research between the end of the informal and the advent of Pop art within the framework of international trends. Particular attention will be paid to the most prominent personalities and to the initiatives to promote the "art system" (galleries, national exhibitions, magazines, etc.) which mark the opening and renewal of languages.
Key points of the discussion will be:
- beyond the Informal; elements of discontinuity and "zeroing" tendencies between the late fifties and early sixties;
- the proposals of the galleries;
- exemplary cases: Fontana, Manzoni, Paolini, Fabro; the young Roman school;
- reception of contemporary American art.
