Contents The course offers an introduction to the history and theory of photography.

Educational objectives The course aims to provide students with the necessary skills to use photography as a tool of information and knowledge.
The students will acquire the ability of reading, interpreting and using photography in the various fields of application, with specific reference to Interior Design, Exhibit Design, Retail Design and Product Design.
Prerequisites None.
Teaching methods The course is divided into theoretical and practical lessons.

Learning verification modality The exam consists of a final oral text, i.e. a discussion-interview on the topics of the course. The interview will verify that the student is able to discuss what learnt during the course with method, propriety of language and of exposure. The duration of the test varies depending on the performance of the test itself.
Extended program The course offers an introduction to the history and theory of photography and its use in Interior Design, Exhibit Design, Retail Design and Product Design. It is divided into the following didactic units: 1. The origins of photography; 2. The photographic portrait; 3. Landscape photography; 4. Documentary photography; 5. Photography as Art.

Educational objectives The course aims to provide the student with an approach to the design of retail spaces, both through theoretical knowledge and practical study of the fundamental tools and phases of the design process.
Prerequisites None
Teaching methods The course is articulated into theoretical lessons and practical exercises.
Other information The Retail Design module coordinates with the teaching of Photography as integral parts of a unitary vision of the design process, expressed in the Laboratory of Retail Design.
Learning verification modality The final exam is individual and includes an oral test on the theoretical contents and the display of the graphics required for the development of the practical exercises. The purpose of the test is to verify the level of knowledge and the ability to apply the design principles.
