Contents
Through the examination of the most representative theories and concepts of the discipline, the lessons critically investigate the developments of sociological thinking in reference to the study of emotions. Specific attention will be paid to the application of the theories examined for the study of the transformations and conditions of current daily life, with particular attention to the forms of sociality present in the so-called "third places".

Non-attending students are invited to contact the teacher to agree on the exam program.
Educational objectives
1) To judge contents acquisition: theories, concepts, rules, procedures, methods.
2) knowledge and know-how application to complete assignments and solve theoretical or pragmatic questions.
3) To illustrate capacities to transfer autonomously knowledge and abilities in different contexts.
Prerequisites
In order to understand and be able to redeploy or to make a development of the knowledge of the
sociological concepts provided from teaching, you must have a good knowledge about the history of sociological thought. The possession of skill mentioned
above is a prerequisite for the student who wants to follow the course with profit, and who aspires to
a concrete educational success.
Teaching methods
The course is organized as follows:
- Lectures will deal with all the issues and problems regarding the relationship human being / society;
- Projection of movies and press reports concerning the main topics that will complement the lectures
providing different perspectives on the same problem.
The predominant teaching method consists of lectures in the classroom assisted, if necessary, by
multimedia tools. It provides also in-depth seminars.

Presence is mandatory.
Learning verification modality
The exam includes only the final oral test consisting of a discussion-interview on the topics discussed
during the course and examined in-depth through recommended texts.
The test aims at assuring the level of knowledge and understanding, as well as synthesis, achieved by
the student. Moreover, this interview will verify that the student is able to communicate, with
method, propriety of language and of exposure, what he has acquired. The duration of the test varies
depending on the performance of the test itself and begins, as a rule, with a subject of the student's
choice in order to put him at ease.

The course will provide a critical overview of principal sociological of emotions concepts and theories. Lessons give substantial notions in the field of social theory and allow the student to improve their capacity to develop their own reflections on specific topics.
