- The course analyzes the theoretical profiles, application institutes and practices of the political-juridical model of participatory democracy. Starting from the constitutional basis of the participation principle and from the configuration of the participation rights, the coure analyzes the problems inherent in the discipline of participation and its assumptions, the european indications and the rules in force at national, regional and local level. Finally, some of the main methodologies and techniques for the construction of participatory processes are illustrated, both in their operating modes and in application practices, with case analysis.

- The course aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of the main aspects of the participatory democracy model and its relationship with the models of representative democracy and direct democracy.

- It is highly recommended to have taken the examination of public law institutions.

- The course uses parts of frontal teaching and in-depth parts with discussion seminars and external guests.

- The exam takes place in oral form. When individual and group work (max 2 students) takes place during the course, part of the exam may involve the discussion of these works.
