- Contents
- Radiation-matter interaction. IR spectroscopy. UV-Vis absorption and emission spectroscopy. Applications to molecular systems of interest in optics. Photochromic materials and their spectroscopic and kinetic characterization.
- Educational objectives
- The main objective of the course is to transmit the following knowledge to the student:
- use of spectroscopic techniques for the determination of molecular properties.
- main applications of photochromic materials.
- main methods of structural investigation and chemical-physical characterization of photochromic materials.
The teaching will allow the student to acquire the following skills:
- use the IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques in the characterization of the materials used in optics.
- identify the applicative potential of photochromic systems based on their chemical-physical properties.
- identify the parameters that enhance the characteristics of interest of a photochromic system.
