Contents
the course will treat in a contrastive perspective, the Portuguese an Italian verbal system, giving special attention to aspectual and time categories (time, aspect and, Aksionsart) . In the module dedicated to the analysis of contrastive morphological Portuguese and Italian we will examine theoretical and practical issues on the formation of words in Portuguese and phraseology. Afterwards it will treated the theme of active translation, with the presentation and comment of the principal current lexicographical instruments for translation in Portuguese. The last part of the course will be entirely dedicated to the translation of different typology of texts from Italian to Portuguese

Educational objectives
The course has the dual goal of bringing students to the acquisition of B1 + level language of competence and at the same time provide the basic elements for reflection on contrastive syntactic structures of Portuguese and Italian. For the acquisition of advanced communication facilities, during the course morphosyntactic structures of the Portuguese language will be described. After completing the course, students must have a thorough knowledge of the metalanguage and the different aspects of a model contrastive of Portuguese and Italian and be competent in all the communicative skills to level B1 + of the parameters set by the Common European Framework of Reference for the languages . They will must demonstrate their proficiency in tools to be able to translate from Italian to Portuguese and produce corrected texts in Portuguese.

Lectures and exercitation performed on both semesters. For the three modules that make up the course of official teaching (lectures), equivalent to 9 credits, they correspond eighty hours of exercises and laboratory activities, held at CLA (University Language Centre), which provides tools and activities materials essential to the achievement of the level B1 language proficiency according to the Common Framework of the Council of Europe, corresponds to Cipla (Certificado Inicial de Português Língua Estrangeira). Students can reach level B1 in the first half of year and level B1+ in the second half, which correspond respectively to the Department in the first and second module (first half) and third module (second half).
Students are invited to join the platform Moodle, because all information about courses (held in Department) and exercises (held at the Language Centre of the University) will be available in their respective platforms Moodle. In them they will also be placed at the disposal of the students critical teaching materials to achieving optimal courses and the information and proposals for complementary activities that aim to enrich the language and cultural training of the student and that seeks to provide a framework as complete as possible of Portuguese and Brazilian language, literature and culture.
Other information
Attendance is strongly recommended. It is compulsory to attend at least 70% of lectures for all students who want to support the partial tests. Everyone else will have to make exams only on the dates that correspond to the seven exams sessions established by the official calendar of the university (2 sessions June 1 to July 2 to September, one in January and one in February). Students that can’t attend lectures should contact the teacher in charge of the course.
Learning verification modality
Final written examination with a single vote. Notwithstanding that the assessment consists of a single vote be recorded during the final exam dates set in the calendar, is prepared, at the end of the first two modules, a partial evaluation, which can access only the students who have attended at least 70% lessons provided. The self-certification or certification of absences in the lessons is not valid with reference to the individual modules, but only when the student make the test (in part or in its entirety) the dates on the calendar. Non-attending students must contact the teacher to establish supplementary materials
At the CLA, the student must complete, at the end of each cycle of exercises a level test (respectively level A1 and A2), considered propaedeutic for the exams held in the Department.
The evaluation will consist in several stages. As for the language course Portuguese and Brazilian I, prepared by the professor responsible for the discipline, the tests performed in test mode Module I: dictation; four sets of exercises on a closed question and phonetic spelling.
Module I : questions and grammar exercises of closed answer .
Module II : I twill be request a short paper in Portuguese on a current topic .
Module III : translation of a text from Italian to Portuguese
All the exams / tests can be carried out with the support of the bilingual dictionary.

As regards the tests, to be carried out by mother tongue collaborators, they will consist of an exam, written and oral, aimed to assess the actual acquisition of the four skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and oral expression). In particular, the written examination will consist of exercises of interpretation and production of texts, while the oral exam - for access to which you must get, in the written (about three hours), a score less than 18/30 - will focus on speaking skills of the student, who is called to show their mastery of the Portuguese language corresponding to the required level. The oral test will last for approximately twenty minutes and will consist of a dialogue led by linguistic associate, in order to evaluate the correction, fluency and communication effectiveness of the student. Ratings resulting from these two tests, written and oral, and the evaluation of student participation in the exercises included in the Moodle platform and / or proposed by Teletandem, will then be the arithmetic average with the sum of the votes of the language tests mentioned above.
All exams will last two hours, will be evaluated by a score of thirty. If not passed the written test, it will not be repeated in the same exam session, but in the next..
Students must register themselves to the tests written by the CLA (for exams language level) and the secretariat of the University SOL (for exams at the Department) within the dates announced. Will not be admitted to exams students not previously enrolled will be not accept registrations by mail or outside time.
