- The course consists of two modules. The first module will focus on the work of José Saramago, Nobel Prize in Literature in 1998 and one of the best known of the Portuguese writers. Above all, the novel Levantado do chão will be analyzed, in which there is a re-reading of the most important and tragic events of the twentieth century, seen from a particularly critical perspective.
In the second module, the author chosen is Guimarães Rosa, who opens a very incisive and valuable passage on Brazilian literature, since he is one of his greatest writers. The narrative of Rosa has the Minas Gerais scenario and describes events, landscapes and customs typical of a rural and marginal region compared to the best known Brazil. The course focuses on the analysis of some of the stories in the books Sagarana and in Primeiras Estórias. They will try to highlight the structural mechanisms of compositional texts also in relations with the historical-social context that serves as a scenario. - Obiettivi Agenda 2030 per lo sviluppo sostenibile
