Contents
Use of modern hardware and software technologies for the study, analysis, and management of digitized signals
Reference texts
Teoria dei segnali analogici (3ed) - M. Luise, G.M. Vitetta - McGraw-Hill

Signal Processing and Linear Systems – B.P. Lathi, R. Green - Oxford University Press

Presentations provided by the Professor (available on UniStudium)

The student can use any text on digital signal processing
Educational objectives
Familiarize the student, both theoretically and experimentally, with signal processing, analog-to-digital conversion, and their frequency study.

Familiarize the student with the features and functionalities of programmable digital logic chips (FPGA, Field Programmable Gate Array)
Prerequisites
The student shall have taken the Mathematical Analysis and General Physics exams, or otherwise have good knowledge of the topics covered in the two courses, in order to take the course proficiently.

Students shall have basic programming skills
Teaching methods
Classroom lectures on all course topics.

Laboratory exercise for the experimental study of the signal characteristics, with the implementation of simple software applications. The work will be conducted in groups of up to four students. At the end of the guided exercises, students can ask for extra time for laboratory exercises, if needed
Other information

Learning verification modality
The examination includes an oral test and the presentation, by the student, of a technical report.

The oral test consists of a discussion of about 30 minutes, aimed at ascertaining the student’s level of knowledge and understanding of the topics indicated in the syllabus. This test will also verify the student‘s communications skills and language properties on the topics of the course.

Furthermore, the examination consists of the discussion on the technical report, done by the student individually or in groups, on the laboratory activities carried out during the course.

In the event that the student intends to take the exam in an earlier year than the one scheduled in the study plan, it is recommended that he/she attend the lecture series and take the exam in the first useful call after the lectures themselves are finished, thus respecting the semester of teaching schedule
