Fluid mechanics. Thermodynamics. - Reference texts
- Halliday, Resnick, Krane - Physics (Volume 1) - Wiley ed. (textbook in English)
- Educational objectives
- Understanding of the physical meaning of the basic concepts in Mechanics and Thermodynamics. Being able to solve problems of mechanics and thermodynamics. Being able to clearly present and explain the topics covered during the lectures.
- Prerequisites
- Vectors and basic vector operations. Derivatives and integrals of one-variable functions.
- Teaching methods
- Lectures and exercises. The topics of the course will be treated in the course of lectures which will be alternated with exercises to facilitate the acquisition of skills related to problem solving.
- Learning verification modality
- The exam consists of a written test and an oral test, both compulsory.
The written test is aimed at verifying the ability to solve problems and consists of 3/4 exercises.
The written test is passed if a minimum score of 15/30 is obtained.
The student who has passed the written test must take an oral test during which he will be asked to present and explain some of the topics covered during the course.
