- Affine and projective geometries. Finite fields. Relevant polynomial functions for applications.
- Reference texts
- Notes.
- Educational objectives
- Acquisition of the main applications of polynomial functions to crypto and coding theory.
- Prerequisites
- Algebra and Geometry for the first two years of the bachelor.
- Teaching methods
- The lectures will be accompanied by exercises, examples and open research problems.
Some results will be rigorously proven. Other results will be only stated looking only at their more relevant applications. - Other information
- Contact directly the teacher for specific questions.
- Learning verification modality
- The exam consists of an oral and a written part.
- Extended program
- Projective and affine spaces over finite fields. Projective and affine varieties. Polynomial functions of particular interest for applications, such as permutation polynomials, APN, PN,PcN functions, scattered polynomials, etc.., will be investigated also through their connections with algebraic varieties.
